Python Rocks
Did I mention we were getting some 'new' furniture? Probably not.
For the longest time we've had this old couch, a hide-a-bed style with a collapsed mattress inside. Not very comfortable. Mid-70's orange-ochre color, torn in places. Because the mattress is collapsed, we started putting a board under the cushions to provide support to whomever sits there. And, every once in awhile, the board pops out and the victim on the couch says "OOH!" and looks at us like they've broken our couch.
Of course, our regular friends don't go "OOH!"; they keep on talking, sit halfway up and move the board back and sit back down without missing a beat.
But our neighbor Sindee (bless her heart) just upgraded her couch and chair to a couch and loveseat. We got her old couch and chair, and futon too, I might add. Verily, I say, 'tis mightier to have a couch and a chair in hand than a crappy couch that falls apart every time someone sits on it. Whatever.
Getting ready to code a thumbnail generator in python 2.3. This would complement the photogallery script I've been working on. 'Cept the libraries and paths on Red Hat 9 are all jacked up -- I want to use wxPython and PIL to do it, and Boa (Constructor, that is) for the IDE. I get so many errors trying to run Boa, about wxPython, and I can't get PIL to compile. Sick, really.
