Waffles: Sorry, Republicans
Just gotback from a fine night of dining at the Crecca's again. That Joe is one helluva meat cook. I'm squarely in the omnivorous camp, but I can see that being strictly carnivorous has the potential to be beautiful.
We've got Waffles tomorrow. Then Church. I'm sure you're familiar with the latter, let's talk about the former. Waffles is a purely Port Townsend thing. It's this group of people that meets in a house Uptown, every Sunday, for a waffles breakfast. It's totally free, you show up and grab a plate. When finished, you wash your own dishes, contribute any spare change to the syrup fund, and jabber on about nothings until you and the others meander out. It's pretty cool, but like most purely Port Townsend things, you can't be a Republican. Sorry.
I invited Joe Crecca. He comes home from his big Seattle Photography Life on weekends, and has his < 2 yr old daughter for most Sat/Sun mornings while his wife does duty down at Sweet Laurette's cafe. I think it'd be a nice thing if you're getting up, groggy, and remember that you're alone, you have to find breakfast for you and your daughter, and you need coffee.
