Well, despite the fact that Sophie's been peppering me with her desire to "KITE! KITE!" she hated it. We did go to the field (see post below), we did assemble the kite - crummy 'cloth' that it is - and flew it. Sophie would have none of it, and we had to promptly close down the Kite Activities for the day and go home to nap.
We've done some housecleaning/reorganizing, setting up a dedicated bookshelf for midwife/home birth stuff. Some minor shopping, and we're finally all set. Some batteries for flashlights, some snacks, lemon juice for a Laborade drink, and ginger root for compresses.
Earlier today, during the beginning of Sophie's nap, I was iChatting with Chris Brummel on iChat on Kel's iMac. We turned on audio and talked, which did really well considering we were on 56k. His band (Felicia Loud and the Soul) has an album on iTunes Music Store, which has netted a total of $5+ so far. Considering the quality of the songs, and the cohesiveness and style of the album, that's a damn cryin' shame. Maybe I can get my old room mate Jason Dodd from Bandoppler to review them.
