ralph.hogaboom.org/software

This is where I put any open-source or free software I've made. Have fun with it, if it's useful to you.

Umbrella

Download now (running time 1:55; MP3; 1.8MB)
Requires: Microsoft Windows with IIS installed and properly configured

Umbrella 0.3 is out. Changelog is ridiculous, but here:

* Updated readme.html to reference correct file (libdatabase.asp NOT libhogaboom.asp)
* Updated all page titles to say "Umbrella - The Vehicle Tracking Database" instead of "Umbrella - Skookum's Vehicle Tracking Database"
* Included the GPL license file, and corrected the readme.html to identify the proper license.

There's one more modification I may make shortly, which would be to include a variable that would set the company name. So you could replace the field "Skookum #" with "eBay #" or whatever company name you wanted. A little branding if you will. If you want this, write me and ask. A little interest from other people is great motivation for me.

This software was developed by Ralph Hogaboom at Skookum Contract Management as an interim solution while waiting for a much more sophisticated enterprise asset management program to be implemented. That's why the name includes the part about it being lightweight ;)

Skookum is a not-for-profit company that helps people with disabilities. For more information about our company, please see http://www.skookum.org. GPL for happy, happy, happy hips and thighs.

See the readme.html for installation and configuration information. See license.txt for licensing information

WSS Recover for Microsoft Sharepoint & MSDE

Download now (1.6 Kb; GPL licensed)

I can see that a lot of people (like me) have used SharePoint Services (SPS) with the MSDE and have hosed the system. Then they need to recover, or extract, the documents that are shared in the Shared Documents on SharePoint. Aha! If you still have MSDE database files, I can help. Witness the wss-recover.asp file, version 0.1.

Download the .zip, and unzip it into the root directory of your IIS webserver. For most folks, this is C:\inetpub\wwwroot. Anyway, once unzipped, simply launch a handy browser and go to http://servername/wss-recover.asp. The script will prompt with default settings, and most people should be able to just click through and get a list of their files. If you've changed database names or what not, it'll be trickier for you.

Anyway, hope this helps someone.

Guest Registration for Windows

Download now (265 Kb; LGPL licensed)
Screenshots :: Main Screen :: Search Results

Open-source, LGPL'd app for registering guests at a bed & breakfast or similar. Visual Basic 6, with some open source widgets ... can't remember which off the top o' me head. Uses MS Access for backend, allowing you to generate reports and search (ala OS X apps) for specific customers, etc. No longer under development.
